see relatedIt's been a while since I've updated. A lot has happened since then. The biggest thing being that I have joined the army. I will leave for basic training on the 17th of November. I'm really excited about starting this new chapter in my life. Mike is really excited about it too.
We've been living with Mike's parents since October of last year. Sometimes it is hard. But I'm trying to make the best of it.
Tim is getting married in October in Scotland. My whole family will be going, so it will be fun to see everyone.
I now have a niece. Her name is Lucy, and she was born in March. Another March birthday!
My job at Dillard's is ending in October. The store I work at is closing. There are rumors that the whole mall is closing, but I have no idea what will happen. It is sad to see the store close.
Mike is almost done with school, his Master's at least. His last class ends in two months. It's gone by quickly! He is working full-time. He's not sure how long he will be working there because they want him to sign a non-compete. But he won't sign it since it will conflict with the work he wants to do for school and eventually with the business that he would like to start. We'll see what happens.

work is going well. i really love it to be honest. it's hard to believe that Christmas is next week because it is so hot here in Bradenton. Just today during my lunch break I sat outside and read for about fifteen minutes, and my skin was red afterward.
i got some gift cards for Christmas from Bets. I've already had the pleasure of enjoying a couple trips to starbucks. i love coffee! hopefully mike and i will make it to red lobster soon! yum!
gretchen gave me j.d. robb books for Christmas. I'm thinking i should start bringing books to work so that i can get caught up on reading. i have lots of books i want to read. i also need to study the spanish/english dictionary mike gave me. he wants me to start learning spanish in case we move to a spanish-speaking country. that would be so exciting.
so we should be having guests in the next couple of months. abdullah's coming soon. then lori kraft is visiting with her fam. in january vern and his wife will be taking us out. and maybe in february my brother jeremy and his wife and baby will come. yay!
i've been working with the youth at my church. i'm so excited because the pastor's daughter invited me over for Christmas dinner. I'm hoping that works out. I'd love to get to know her better.

see relatedI started training at Dillard's today. It feels so good to have a job...i go in again on tuesday.
We should close on the house on Wednesday. I'm praying that everything will go through smoothly.
Last night I handed out candy to trick-or-treaters for the first time. Bob, Patti, and I had the best time telling all the kiddies Halloween jokes. What does a witch eat at the beach? A sandwich! haha
I've been watching too much tv. but what can i say? i haven't had a tv in years...
mike and i had two date nights this past week. tuesday we went to the movies and saw wall-e. what a great movie. then two nights ago we saw quarantine. another good one with jennifer carpenter. i love her!
gretchen and i have plans to see mamma mia on tuesday. i actually watched it last week, but she hasn't seen it and wants someone to go with. so i get to see it again!
i think gretchen and i will be good friends. we get along really well. and we work within a mile of each other! awesome! (she works at cracker barrel.) we met through my college roommate megan. anyway, i got some counted cross stitching pieces i'm doing for her. i'm glad she enjoys doing crafty things. we got to do some painting this past week. i love to paint.

I got hired at Dillard's today. I am so excited about getting started. (Training begins in a week.) Praise God I applied when I did. Praise God that I got a job!

I rented a storage unit the day after we arrived. Most of our stuff has gone in there. Mike even stored over half his books.
Job hunting is going okay. I have a second interview at Dillard's tomorrow. I've also put in an application at Starbucks. We'll see how it goes.
I'm not at church today because we went last night. Mike played the drums. It's cool going to a new church. I'm excited about meeting new people. Monty (the youth director) took us out the other day. I'm looking forward to getting involved with that.
Gretchen and I should be hanging out this coming week. It will be fun doing something with a friend.
